The Customs Area Comptroller of the Tin Can Command, Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Kunle Oloyede has been operating an open door policy, listening to every operational challenge or complaint in the command and ensuring in his capacity that solutions are proffered for them, this is according to the Association of Nigerian Licenced Customs Agents (ANLCA) .
In a press release from the public relations officer of the Tin Can chapter of the association, Onome Joy Monije, the CAC is described as “a leader that is hands on and proactive on every issue or challenge brought to his table”.
The statement added that “we want to say a big thumbs up for there has been no complaint from every genuine declarant’s case and once you bring any issue that reaches his table, as an astute IT expert, he attends to all of the operational challenges in no time” .
“In the area of ease of doing business, we will say that Comptroller Kunle Oloyede has done exceptionally well as the head of the command. Our acting president, Dr. Kayode Collins Farinto is a strong advocate for VIN valuation and paperless Non-Standard VIN code 846 and he is in full support of the quality leadership style of CAC Oloyede at the Tin Can Command”.
The association though agrees that there are bad eggs in every system which will want to be clogs in the wheel of progress, it admonishes that members and officers alike should follow the principles as stated in all operational guidelines.
It will also be recalled that at the last stakeholders meeting of all associations on the 22nd of May at the Rockview hotel, Apapa which had the theme:Way Forward on Challenges Militating Against Cargo Clearance, Dr Farinto presided over the meeting as the leader of one of the associations . In that meeting, a certain communique was reached, but as the leader of the meeting, Dr. Farinto made some remarks which were reported out of conext by those seeking political offices within the association, ANLCA is therefore asking that people should not politicize a purely professional matter by quoting Dr. Kayode Collins Farinto out of context.
The association therefore maintains that it was on the agreement reached at the meeting by all freight forwarders across board that necessitated that communique and asks that people should be properly guided .
