The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) held its National Executive Council Meeting on the 23rd of this month and the occasion was used to review the activities of the body over the months past and also to project into the future of the large freight forwarders body.
The president of the association is High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi and he took advantage of the occasion to speak on the ideals of the body and also to encourage members to keep adapting to the changing times in order to continue to remain relevant.
His presented speech reads fully thus
“Distinguished Members of the National Executive Council, Good morning, and a warm welcome to each one of you. It is with great pleasure that I open this important meeting of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF). Today, we gather to discuss, deliberate, and make decisions that will shape the future of our esteemed association and the freight forwarding industry at large”.
“First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for your dedication and hard work. Your unwavering commitment to NAGAFF and to the principles we stand for is truly commendable. It is because of your tireless efforts that we have achieved significant milestones and continue to uphold the integrity and professionalism of our industry”.
“As we convene today, we are faced with numerous challenges and opportunities. The landscape of freight forwarding is rapidly evolving, driven by advancements in technology, changes in regulations, and shifts in global trade dynamics. We must stay ahead of these changes, adapt to new realities, and continue to advocate for policies that support our members and the industry”.
“In this meeting, we will review our strategic initiatives, assess our progress, and set new goals for the coming months. Our agenda includes discussions on critical issues such as regulatory compliance, capacity building, digital transformation, and stakeholder engagement. These are areas where we must focus our efforts to ensure that NAGAFF remains at the forefront of the industry”.
“One of our key priorities is to strengthen our advocacy efforts. We must continue to engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to ensure that the voice of freight forwarders is heard and that our concerns are addressed. Our collective expertise and insights are invaluable in shaping policies that foster a conducive business environment”.
“As we embark on this journey together, let us remember the core values that bind us: integrity, professionalism, and service. These values are the foundation of NAGAFF and the guiding principles that will lead us to greater heights”.
“In conclusion, I encourage each one of you to actively participate in today’s discussions, share your insights, and collaborate towards our common goals. Together, we can overcome any challenge and seize the opportunities that lie ahead”.
“Thank you once again for your presence and your unwavering commitment to NAGAFF. Let us make this meeting productive and impactful for the betterment of our association and the freight forwarding industry”.
The NEC meeting had a theme which was: NAGAFF at 25. The president said that Inspite of all the challenges that the association has faced, that it is still striving on.
His words “As an association, we are better now than our yesterday and our future shall certainly be better than our today”.
High Chief Ezisi praised the visionary action of the founder of the association, Doc. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam who he said has been nurturing the association up to this level of growth ever since.
“I am the president today and NAGAFF is in my care and we intend to use the silver jubilee celebration to unveil a whole lot of good things that I will not mention now. Today, we discussed a lot of things that the chapters could not handle by themselves as we are one big family”.
A committee was set up by the president which will make preparations for the silver jubilee celebration and it will be chaired by chief Afam Chukwuma.
