The ongoing Comptroller General of Customs’ Conference is attracting a slew of interests as well as goodwill messages. This may be attributable to the personality of the current CGC, Adewale Adeniyi (MFR) whose energy and assiduousness is permeating the ranks of officers and men of the Service. CGC Adeniyi has been a public relations person for a long span of his career in the Service and his skill in this area has also endeared him to many stakeholders.

The latest in the deluge of goodwill messages comes from the president of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, who in a statement reads says.

“The entire family of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) wishes to use this auspicious occasion to convey hearty congratulations to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi (MFR) for resuscitating this conference after 11 years.

This is in recognition of his intelligent, tenacious and innovative disposition and of course in anticipation of a very successful CGC’s Conference taking place between the 13th and 15th of December 2023.

CGC Adeniyi is a born leader who is well known for his cerebral mien and his masterful human management skills, the level of motivation of the officers and men of the NCS under his watch has been legendary as evident in the reported performances of the different Units and Commands these past six months that some of the retired officers wish they could come back to Service.

The 2023 theme of the CGC’s conference is “Leveraging Data Analytics for Secure and Efficient Trade Facilitation in Customs Operations” and comes at the right time when the phrase ‘Ease of Doing Business’ which used to be a Presidental Order has been totally neglected by Terminal operators and Shipping companies.

The CGC’s Conference is a forum for the discussion of issues that are salient and totally germane to the wellbeing of the Service, the evolution of standards in Customs operation and efficiency. We trust that the quality of the man and his men will be brought to bear on the forum”. The statement concluded.
