The convener of the recently organised 2024 Observance of the International Day of African Descent with the theme: People of African Descent: Recognition, Justice And Development and which was observed under the auspices of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), Dr. Chinaza Jennifer Ugboaja has continued to take her acts of philanthropy a notch higher.

The World Peace Ambassador who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Heart of Gold non-governmental entity which helps the needy and vulnerable keyed into the celebration of the birthday of fellow Peace Ambassador, May Yul-Edochie to contribute her quota towards making life more meaningful for the less privileged.

Ambassador (Dr.) Chinaza Jennifer Ugboaja who belongs to the body of Eminent Peace Ambassadors of the organisation which commemorates the United Nations International Observance days, decades and years with concentration at the national, states and grassroots in bringing the awareness of the United Nations to people who have no knowledge of the working, functions and structure of the United Nations to enable them share and gain knowledge on particular events, themes and subject matters was all smiles at the programmes of the day.

The birthday programme had started at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Lekki Lagos for a morning mass after which all friends, well wishers and family members moved to Makoko, a slum area of the mainland Lagos to show love to some less privilaged women.

The entourage of Queen May as May Yul-Edochie is fondly called including the first and only Nigerian individual Olympic champion, Commisioner of Police, Dr. Chioma Ajunwa-Opara, Nollywood actress Nuella Njibiogo, Fashion designer Patricia Uchenna Onumonu, beauty products maker Joy Makun, Dr. Chinaza Jennifer Ugboaja and a host of other personalities were on hand to help make the celebration one to remember for Queen May.

The event at Makoko saw the distribution of bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, a training session as well as monetary gifts given to the women at the Adekunle primary school, Makoko venue of the event.

Ambassador (Dr. ) Chinaza Jennifer Ugboaja who was at the occasion in dual capacity as a philanthropist and a member of IAWPA said after the event that “Today, I want to acknowledge the work that Queen May is doing, she is really unveiling a lot of untold stories to the society. In our country today, most people do not feel the pains of the less privileged, but believe you me, I am amazed with what I am seeing here today and the world will be pleasantly surprised with what Queen may is all about, she is a queen and nothing less”.

Ambassador Chinaza Jennifer Ugboaja added that “I decided to sponsor this event for my friend and fellow ambassador because she is a hard working woman and because I feel that it is going to add to the milestone already achieved by my friend Queen May as she has chosen to celebrate her birthday today in a rather selfless manner. She is a woman with a heart of gold and we at the IAWPA are very proud of her”.
