He said, “I can’t remember when last freight forwarders got this type of training from the NCS. Current CGC Wale Adeniyi MFR has all it takes to move NCS forward, he has renewed freight forwarders’ hope in the ability of the Customs to act with full sense of responsibility on the social aspect of their functions. I am fully aware that he is working tirelessly with the Federal Ministry of Finance on fiscal policies and with the Central Bank of Nigeria on the Monetary Policy”.

“The event which was very informative, educative and interactive gave freight forwarders an ample opportunity to discuss and address operational challenges with all the Assistant Comptrollers General of Customs and the Customs Area Controllers of the various Commands and Zones including Deputy Controllers on different topics such as New Cargo Clearance procedures, Cargo Inspection, Fast Track and the new CEMA Act and others.”

The training gave deep insight into customs Dispute Resolution Mechanisms and Export Processes as well as the probable reasons that there are undue delays in the operations by Terminal Operators and Shipping companies which leads to demurrages.

In a related development, the Deputy Comptroller General AG Saidu PhD; DCG TRADOC while delivering his welcome address on behalf of the Comptroller General Customs Adewale Adeniyi MFR at the opening ceremony said “l appreciate the CGC for approving this workshop and also all stakeholders who are present here today”.
