It was all fun, games, gifts and laughter as the Sona Group of Companies hosted children of different schools in Ogun State in a Christmas party. The event happened within the premises of Sona Plastics Limited in Otta area of Ogun State.

The chairman of the Group, Mr. Arjan Mirchandani was elated to have the children present and having fun. Some senior management staffs of the various subsidiaries under the Group were also on hand to make sure that there were enough gifts of their products given out to the very happy children.

Christiana ‘Kokonma’ Francis-Inoh of the administrative department said that the party is a small gesture of making the children happy in this season of love and also an act of giving back to society.

The chairman, Mr. Mirchandani says that the event is part of their corporate social responsibility to make the children make friends, bond and learn to be more socially aware in order that Nigeria may benefit from their talents and good experiences.

His words “we need the children to be highly educated intellectually, morally and socially so that they can grow up to be role models to society in terms of their levels of responsibility and the Sona Group is willing to help them acheive these qualities”.

The man who has lived close to six decades in Nigeria says that Nigerians are good people and that Nigeria is a fantastic place to live in.

Mr. Mirchandani says that he is inspired by the fact that education plays vital roles in the development of a person and ultimately a nation and these give give him the push to always want to help children in their educational pursuits hence this party for pupils of various schools within the area.

Some cash prices totalling sixty thousand naira were awarded to 5 children who took part in some quiz competitions at the event. The benefiting children were Falokun Jordan, Oladipupo Olatanmiwa, Akeem Adunola, Owadokun Nancy and Kumapayi Demilade.

Aside the cash prices, numerous other gifts of companies’ products ranging from confectioneries to plastic products were given out to the children as well as their teachers and some parents present at the party.
